Ugears takes you on a medieval journey with the Archballista and Tower, a model that lets you explore the art of siegecraft. Inspired by ancient artillery, legendary battles, and classic war machines, this model offers a fresh take on a traditional war machine to test your conquering skills.
This Ugears model comprises two parts: the siege machine itself and the mechanical tower, both with numerous articulated details. The Ballista features two modules: the firing unit and the base. The base has adjustable legs that stabilize the machine during firing, while the firing unit shoots wooden bolts, capable of firing up to three bolts in a round.
The traverse and elevation mechanism allows you to set the ballista at the desired angle in both horizontal and vertical planes for precise aiming. The winding mechanism lever, located on the model's right side, serves as the trigger for launching bolts at the target when you're ready to fire.
The firing module can be detached from the base and mounted on top of the Tower—the second part of the Ballista/Tower model. The design reflects a medieval style, with ornate details and a classic ivy-clad castle tower featuring a heraldic gryphon or dragon on a coat of arms.
The tower conceals interesting constructional features, such as a spiral staircase and an interior structure. The gear on the side of the tower is part of the mechanism that raises the second level, revealing the dragon shield set parallel to the tower's wall. A well-aimed shot from your ballista can cause the second level to collapse, showcasing the clever mechanism.
With partly ruined walls and missing bricks, you can witness the intricate gears and inner frame at work. Ugears Ballista and Tower offers a delightful medieval experience to brave conquerors who dare to accept the challenge of assembling this traditional puzzle without glue or special tools—just their capable hands and a bit of old mechanical magic.
Unlike real medieval sieges, which may not be suitable for family entertainment, Ugears' model is designed to bring fun and good times. It encourages you to involve your heirs in this journey, practicing aiming accuracy, conquering castles, and immersing yourself in the romantic era of chivalry. Save a damsel in distress with the Ugears Ballista and Tower model.
